Apartment Tour!

Apartment Tour!

I’m so excited to share our house with you today! I might be a bit biased, but I think it might be the cutest apartment in the city. For the first two years, we lived on the south side of OKC, and it was the worst place ever. There wasn’t anything around except for a scary grocery store and a 7/11. So when we moved near downtown, it was like moving to a whole different place! Our neighborhood is historic, and there are so many houses with cute vintage charm. Even the streetlights are vintage! We’ve been here a little over a year, and we love it!

The living room! The first thing I noticed about our place when we toured it was how much natural light there is! It’s so bright and airy and refreshing. My favorite piece in this room is the vintage peacock fireplace grate. I snagged it off Facebook marketplace for $60! The coffee table and side table were just plain pine tables from Ikea, but I stained them and added hairpin legs.

Another thing I love about the living room are the built in bookcases. I have SO many books, so the added storage is so helpful! I turned the books around because there were so many colors and they just didn't match the space. Please notice the Breaking Bad memorabilia!

Next up is the kitchen! To be honest, I was so scared when I saw the kitchen, because it was half the size of our current place. I had such a hard time organizing when we moved in because we had so much stuff and no where to put it! We had to get creative and add extra storage with the cart. I do love how bright it is with all the white appliances and tile. Also, the gas range is amazing!

Our cute breakfast nook! There are so many thrifted things in this corner. The posters are old food advertisements from Life Magazine and I think they’re so cute! I found the chairs on facebook marketplace, and it worked out that they only came in a set of three because that’s all I needed! The crate and basket for our fruits and vegetables are vintage, as well as all of the tins and cookbooks. The table looks vintage, but I actually got it from Target on clearance for $90!

we had to get really creative with storage, so I found these cute spice racks at Ikea for under $4! I got the spice jars at World Market for $1 each, and the labels are from Paper Source. Once the labels were printed, I sprayed them with a protector so they wouldn’t smear. I’m so happy with how this turned out!

This is one of my favorite places in the house! Our dining room also has to double as the office/studio, but we made it work! My desk and bookshelves are from Target (of course) but I love the midcentury vibe!

This other side of the dining room had an awkward, empty wall, so I turned it into a reading nook! All of these pieces are from Ikea. The chair is surprisingly comfortable! I love to sit here in the mornings and have a cup of coffee.

Last up is our bedroom! I love our bedroom because it has eight windows! I love the way the light pours in early in the morning. The pillow covers were one of my splurge items. I knew I wanted mud cloth covers, and it was so hard to find some that were cute and moderately priced. I love how the bedroom turned out!

This is Jonathan’s dresser- notice how empty it is! The tray for his watch and accessories was leftover from the wedding, but it works great as a catch all for his things! I don’t love the wall shelf, but I found it on facebook marketplace for $10 so I made it work! My favorite part is the custom painting of Hank and Jane’s cute little behinds!

My favorite corner of the room! I got this clothing rack from Food52, and it was exactly what I wanted! It’s slim and modern, and holds my clothes for the upcoming work week. The dried eucalyptus adds such a pretty touch.

I hope you enjoyed this peak into my house! Let me know what you think in the comments!
